Nepal celebrates its first wide scale gay pride parade
So imagine taking a trip to an area around the beautiful Himalayas just south of the People’s Republic of China and just east of the Republic of India. With a diverse and culturally rich population of some 30 million people, sitting on 56,000 square miles of land mass, is the country of Nepal. And at the heart of Nepal is the capital city of Kathmandu which played host to the first every wide scale gay pride parade to ever take place in that country. Some 2,000 people showed up with representatives from over 15 countries including British Ambassador John Tucknott. Tucknott told The Times of India, “It is about saying yes to embracing diversity.” Openly gay Member of Parliament Sunil Babu Pant led the parade procession, riding an elephant. Diversity is truly making its rounds around the world. Check out these pictures courtesy of blogger and gay media writer Rex Wockner.

Steven,
Coming out is personal and takes time. Don’t rush it and don’t do before you are ready. Take the time to know yourself and who you are, develop your own personality and characteristics that define you – be comfortable with yourself. Once you clear that hurdle, than the take the small steps to telling others around you. There is no hurry and there is no easy answer to this question but there is a lot of support out there for you.
Good luck!!
