Sarah Blasko latest single “All I Want”

Sarah Blasko "As Day Follows Night"

Sarah Blasko has been touring the UK to sold out crowds with her own version of indie rock and pop.  Fans of Blasko will remember her 2009 album “As Day Follows Night” which won her the “Best Female Artist”  in the ARIA Music awards.  Recall, this third album creation opened with “Down On Love,” a ruminative track that combines the melody of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” with the lyrics “Lately you’ve been down on love…” After 45 minutes of bad romances, unfaithful lovers and just plain despair, you feel as if you’ve spent a long, dark night in Blasko’s soul.

And the long dark nights seem to keep on coming.  The single “All I Want” (produced by  Björn Yttling (of Peter, Björn and John fame) wrestles with her metaphorical ghosts as lonesome and windswept as the Ennio Morricone-esque arrangement that drives it forward.  Her hazy vocal style is haunting and melodic.  The happy up-beat single “Hold On My Heart”  certainly offers a way out from the clouds — its an uptempo ramble that’s as breezy and relieving as the first break of dawn.   Itching for a taste of her music?  Head on over to her web page: www.myspace.com/sarahblasko and sample in the long dark night if you dare!!

  2. Steven,

Coming out is personal and takes time. Don’t rush it and don’t do before you are ready. Take the time to know yourself and who you are, develop your own personality and characteristics that define you – be comfortable with yourself. Once you clear that hurdle, than the take the small steps to telling others around you. There is no hurry and there is no easy answer to this question but there is a lot of support out there for you.

    Good luck!!
